Care Instructions

  • Preparing Your Skin

    In the two weeks leading up to your treatment:

    • Avoid excessive sun exposure or sunburn on the area

    • Discontinue retinoids and strong exfoliating products on the treatment site

    • Avoid resurfacing treatments such as chemical peels or aggressive needling

    • Ensure the scar is fully healed and stable (this will be confirmed during consultation)

    Healthy, calm skin responds best to treatment.

    48 Hours Prior

    To minimise unnecessary inflammation:

    • Avoid alcohol

    • Avoid non-essential anti-inflammatory medications (unless prescribed)

    • Stay well hydrated

    • Avoid applying active or irritating products to the area

    If you are prone to cold sores and your scar is near the mouth, please notify us prior to your appointment.

    On the Day

    • Arrive with clean, product-free skin

    • Wear comfortable clothing allowing access to the treatment area

    • Eat prior to your appointment

    We will guide you through every step to ensure comfort and clarity.

  • Immediately Following Treatment

    It is normal to experience:

    • Redness

    • Mild swelling

    • Warmth or sensitivity

    • Temporary pinpoint markings

    These responses indicate the tissue has been stimulated and typically settle within several days.

    First 48 Hours

    During this initial healing phase:

    • Keep the area clean and dry

    • Avoid exercise, heat exposure, swimming, or saunas

    • Do not apply active skincare products

    • Avoid touching, picking, or disrupting the area

    A gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser may be used if recommended.

    Days 3–7

    You may notice mild dryness or light flaking.

    • Continue to avoid exfoliating agents

    • Protect the area from sun exposure

    • Apply SPF if the area is exposed

    Allow the skin to recover undisturbed.

    The Regeneration Phase

    Collagen remodelling occurs gradually over the following weeks.

    For optimal outcomes:

    • Maintain hydration

    • Protect the area from UV exposure

    • Follow your recommended 6–8 week treatment spacing

    • Attend review appointments as advised

    Visible improvements develop progressively as tissue quality strengthens.
